bigboybanshee Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 How long do you guys usually run before changing out your spark plug caps? Thanks! Quote
ledofthezep Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 (edited) I'm still running the stock caps from '97. I did unscrew the caps, clip the wires back about 1/2" & re-screwed them on to make sure they were getting a good connection once when troubleshooting and electrical headache. Never had/heard of any problems with stockers. Edited December 7, 2004 by ledofthezep Quote
warwgn Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 ran one on my raptor for 2 years, then it went bad and quit working. I cut it open to see the problem, The spring and resistor were good but there is a small brass cup that the spring sit in and it had corrsion or the plastic had just melted into it somehow. It was very thin and I scraped it off with a scribe and it read good after that. I think if you replace the resistor and take a small drill bit to clean the cup at the bottom they will last a long time!! Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 7, 2004 Author Report Posted December 7, 2004 Hmmmm...reason I asked is because I wasn't sure if they were like car plug wires...where after "x" mileage it's good to replace them. Thanks for the reply Led! Quote
