BriggsRi Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Above soap & water, what other chemicals does everyone use? What can be use to remove oils & grease with out removing paint or staining the plastics. I just want my Shee to Shine, this way my riding buddies can see me through the dust cloud they're standing in Quote
PolyKarbon Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 (edited) Simple Green to clean it all. Just mix a ratio of 5 parts water to 1 part Simple green and soak your quad with it. Let it set for about 5 minutes then scrub. ArmorAll Wipes for the plastics and seat when its done. NeverDull for chrome. Edited December 6, 2004 by PolyKarbon Quote
RNBRAD Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Don't forget Mother's billet for the aluminum. I always take mine to the carwash after I ride. I have to use the spot free rinse or I would be drying for an hour. Quote
Holyman Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 I use the Walmart Super Tech or whatever it's called engine degreaser for 97 cents a can. It foams up so it stays where you spray it. Let that soak for 5-10 minutes and hose it off. Really tough baked on grease, I use cheap oven cleaner I get from the dollar store. Spray it on thick, let it set for 5-10 minutes and hose it off. DO NOT get the oven cleaner on billet aluminum OR spray painted surfaces or it WILL remove the finish or paint. It seems the factory painted surfaces are OK with the oven cleaner. I cleaned a whole Blaster frame, pipes, engine, swingarm... all the greasy stuff and I only went thru 1 can of each. Next time it needs to be cleaned will be alot easier. Quote

PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 3 sponges, one bucket full of soapy water and 3 models in bikinis. Oh you meant for real, 3000psi pressure washer cleans just about anything off can cut plastic and rip seats though so care is needed. Quote
ledofthezep Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 Usually just bag the toomey filter & hit the car wash. Then I use some cleaning wipes on the fenders & wipe them down with a towel, wax the underside of the fenders here & there so mud & shit doesn't stick as bad & washes off much easier. Then get out the grease gun, chain lube & some paper towels for excess grease & shit. Quote

Banshee Boy28756 Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 I heard of some stuff called Sun Of A Gun to clean your engine. I haven't tried it out yet though. But my friend said he used it and his engine sparkles. Quote

sanddevil111 Posted December 8, 2004 Report Posted December 8, 2004 i use my own little mix. and for this polish stuff i cant think of what its called but its in a little silver can and it feels and looks like cotton and has polish in it. it works better than any polish i have ever seen especially on pipes. i use it on my cpi's and they gleam. it lasts a long ass time. I had the same can for a year and polished it everytime i cleaned it which was at least 120 times. no joke. Its like 9 bucks and it looks like it will run out but it takes forever. your supposed to pull little chunks off the ball of cotton with polish in it and its weird cus it doesnt look like you pulled anything out. thats why it lasts so long.
