00BANSHEE Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 I agree. That thing needs to go in the trash. And if the used one you bought looks like that it should go in the trash as well. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 you can file them down as a bandaid fix,it will get you by for awile. I got a hinson, the clutch is alot smoother than a screwed up stock one, but pricey. I don't have anymore clutch problems though. Quote
fixitrod Posted December 1, 2004 Report Posted December 1, 2004 If you have one that looks better than the one in the pic just file the peaks down like jkjk said. It'll work. That little bit of slop won't be bad unless you have a perfectly free clutch when it's pulled. There will always be some tension on that basket with the clutch plates. It may wear a little fast, but if you're trying to save some $$$ it'll work just fine. Quote
Wallrat Posted December 1, 2004 Author Report Posted December 1, 2004 Well I've torn the whole engine apart and most of the mods I'm doing on the rebuild are to emphasize reliability. So uh...anybody wanna buy 2 clutch baskets? Quote
