I'm finally ready for my New Machine, but need some advice from all of the resident HQ pro's.

What would you recommend for my type of riding in Alabama?

Typically we will be doing lot's of woods and trail riding - power & Gas lines. The terrain is mainly hard pack, rocky, with some sand. No dunes at all and not a lot of long open stretches - some, but not like desert open.

Looking for a machine capalbe of low speed cruzen, trail busten and med. to low maintenance. Is there such a beast?

Lastly, my buds are running 660 - Raptors.

Thanks

I'd say get a sport 4x4 like a scrambler or wolverine or something. A Raptor would be pretty good Too.

I am leaning toward a sport machine, plus I would like to keep-up with my buds. I'm not really into eating their trail dust. Rat Bastards...

Hey Banshee

How about low end stuff - are there mods to boost low end power?

all depends if you want reverse or not since it seems like youll mostly ride trails, if you do want reverse go with a raptor if you dont mind pulling your quad around when stuck in a position where you cand just turn around id say a shee setup for that type of riding or a 450. the z400 would be a good choice as well but down on power compared to the raptor.

If you wanna run a 'shee, a nice start would be:

Set of gnarlies or a 2-1 pipe, 2-1 carb setup, nerfs, woods port, set of triple rate works, razr2's all the way around, steering stabilizer, belly full of skids, -2swingarm and a set of handgaurds.

Yfz450: handguards, pipe, razr2's all around, skids, nerfs, steering stabilizer and a thicker seat. You'd prolly have to loosen the shocks up some so it don't bust the teeth outa your head.

400ex, raptor, or z400:

Handguards, skids, razr2's, nerfs, Gas and go..... but you'd be slow.

For that type of riding the Banshee would benefit from some mods where the YFZ450 or Raptor are ready to go. I would recommend the Raptor for trails and stuff for the reverse, but if you want to lead the pack get the 450. I love my Banshee but it takes a lot to make one stable.

I hear the new honda 400ex's will have reverse to. I really really like the yfz450's too!!
