Worn seal surfaces can be fixed.

I had no idea that worn seal surfaces could be repaired. I went to pick up a bearing and they had these on display.... http://www2.chicago-rawhide.com/speedi_sleeves.htm . Just thought I'd share incase somebody needed something like this. At the shop they said they haven't ran into any rpm limitations either. Oh, and you can use the original size seal becasue they are thin.

Speedi Sleeves work great. We use them occasionally on heavy equipment here, and the tractor lines we sell sometimes offer them OEM...probably the most common application is on a crankshaft rear main seal, but not sure if I'd trust it not to leak on a Banshee crank (not saying it wouldn't work).

I deal with Chicago Rawhide products from time to time, and I've never seen these! I wish I could use them, but unfortunately when I get a shaft in that has worn areas, I either have to weld it up and remachine it, or make it all over again. Usually the latter. I'll have to keep these in mind for personal projects though.
