whiteboarder Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 i have heard people talking about matched cases and i dont know what it is can some one explain to me. Quote
Lepew Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 I beleive matched cases are the original upper and lower case halfs that were machined by Yamaha at the factory. I think I remember something scratched in them from the factory to identify the set. Can anyone verifiy that? Quote

SDD Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 There are two ways cases are matched. If you look on the back of the cases on the right side you will see a hand engraved number. These numbers should match. This is a matched set of cases from the factory. Second way is port matching the bottom of the cylinders transfer port tunnels to the top of the case where the case feeds the transfers. Quote
whiteboarder Posted November 18, 2004 Author Report Posted November 18, 2004 i new it had something to deal with porting but i wasnt exactly sure also does this add alot of power or little Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted November 18, 2004 Report Posted November 18, 2004 it adds about 2hp and is very simple to do. Just match the case to the transfer port and thats it. Easy job seriously. Quote
