williamjernigan Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 I am going to install my new -1 chrome lonestar swinger in the next few weeks or so. But I was thinking that since I will have all that stuff off the bike I might as well have the rear shock revalved at a shop. Should I do this? I know Ive read that it can make a big difference. I weigh about 160-170 so should I go ahead and get it for about 175pounds in case I gain weight. How should the bike feel after this is done. I mostly ride trails but if I find something I can jump I will. Quote
ledofthezep Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 If you got the money, like you said...since it's apart, you may as well. you won't regret it, it'll ride better & handle more to your liking. But if you just trail ride & don't jump a whole hell of a lot & go big all the time, then you'd probably be alright. I assume this is a stock shock we're talking about? Quote
williamjernigan Posted November 11, 2004 Author Report Posted November 11, 2004 Yes it is a stock shock Quote
fixitrod Posted November 13, 2004 Report Posted November 13, 2004 I'd put the swingarm on first. It will stiffen it up and you may be happy with it. It only takes a few minutes to pull the shock off if you want to rebuild it later. I had mine rebuilt while putting a -2 swingarm on and it came out to stiff. Try it first and see what you think.
