PlaynSand Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 If any of you are like me , it seems that at least one of the stock rubber seat cushions come up missing. I found a rubber isolation mount with some 1/4" studs on each end at an electrical supply store. The rubber is about an inch and the studs are about 1/2" long. I then cut it in half ( watch the fingers ) Then drilled 1/4" holes at approx . center . Where the stock cushions were rubbing. Put some Loctite on the studs and installed some nuts and locks and tightened . leave the stock cushions off . Sell the remaining one to your buddy. Now let's see them little boogers get away! Quote
Cotton eyed Joe Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 COOL MOD!! I don't know what the hell the deal is, but I'm always missing my left front rubber baby buggy bumper deal...WTF???? Your fix beats the hell out of my wad of duct tape fix. Quote
Holyman Posted August 17, 2004 Report Posted August 17, 2004 GREAT idea... What was the total cost on that? Quote
PlaynSand Posted August 17, 2004 Author Report Posted August 17, 2004 GREAT idea... What was the total cost on that? I think they charged me $3 for the mount and I had a couple of 1/4" nuts and locks already. I was looking at Grainger.com and they have the mounts for $1.98 The item # 5XK72 in their catalog. Quote
willow2679 Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 If you put it when you change the seat cover you can bolt it up on the seat without making a hole in the frame BTW I lost two pairs already and give up on that thing and never tried anything more good tip Quote
dnhyoung Posted August 18, 2004 Report Posted August 18, 2004 I just used a little moulding adhesive and glued them into place, let set over night, and good as new. But that's looks like a good alternative Quote
