YFZRida05 Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Hey guys, Tommarow I am going to jet my friends banshee for him and just was wondering what jets sounded right so I can run the the stealership and grab them.... He has a stock motor with a boost bottle, FMF fatties, and Powercore II silencers and no snorkle on the lid.... Elevation is like 700-800 ft and like 80 degrees. Please help! I have all of those mods on my shee and it is running fine with what the previous owner had installed but He never told me what jets were in there. Just if you could give me a ballpark number that I could work with, that would be great! Also, what is the best way to get the carbs off of the banshee? I havn't rejetted a banshee before but I have done 250R's, Raptor's, Z's, Warrior's ect..... Just if you can give me any tips on what the easiest way is on the banshee, Thanx! Quote
svtkid78 Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 Take your carbs off your bike and look at what you have. Quote
sredish Posted July 29, 2004 Report Posted July 29, 2004 If it's jetted stock, then 280 main, 25 pilot and 3rd clip on the needle should get you pretty damn close. Quote
red ore Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 We have 280 mains and 32 pilots and its a bit too fat on the low end. Quote
Ducman Posted July 30, 2004 Report Posted July 30, 2004 With the snorkel removed airbox lid on and a stock air filter run 260 mains and or 30 pilots (jetting recommendations that come with fatties from FMF), 27.5 pilots will work fine too. 270 or 280 mains when it gets cold in the winter. Loosten the carb top, then the clamps on the front of the carb and the ones connecting the boots on the rear of the carb to the airbox. Push back on carb, boots will flex back towards/into the airbox. Leave boots attached to the back of the carb, this seems to be the easiest way for me to get the carbs back on, puting boot around airbox vs around the back of the carb. Turn the front of the carb outward and pull carb out, pull slides out as soon as the carb is free. I prefer doing 1 carb at a time, less chance of mistakes. Dont forget to reattach coke tube between carbs, and bowl drain tubes. Quote
