Hubie000 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 My banshee won't go engage into any gear. I messed with the clutch cable on the handlebars making it tighter/looser and that seemed to help for a minute. Then, when it does go in gear it will only go about 3 feet and disengage again. I think I might be something with the lever but not sure. The lever adjustment "feels" right but it doesn't want to go in gear. Or if it does go into gear it wont go. Any ideas? Thanks Quote
racer Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 you could try a new cable. im sure if it really helped but when i put a new cable on mine when i first got it it seemed to hook up a lil better, could be me though. if that doesnt work pull your plates and check em out, if those seem ok, there is a little screw on the outside of the cluth hub that is the actual adjustment, check and seem if that to spec, but im not sure what spec is, anyone wanna help me out on this one? adeezy9183 Posted June 23, 2004 Report Posted June 23, 2004 will it engage without holding the clutch? if that's the case then the spring clip that holds your shift shaft tight came loose. take off the clutch cover and take the clutch off and you'll see the shift star behinda metal thing that changes the gears. the black spring is on the clutch side of the shift shaft. just tight the screw and nut and adjust it the best you can and that should do it.
