kenr74 Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Start spraying those bolts down. Give it some time and then hit them with your cheap ass electric impact. They will come out much easier than you think once they have been lubed up. I thought mine would never come out and then they spun out so fast I couldn't get my finger off the trigger fast enough. Like everybody else said, DO NOT cut them. If you do you will end up having a nightmare trying to get the threaded part out. Quote
QuadMX Posted June 26, 2004 Author Report Posted June 26, 2004 Well, I bought some PB Blaster the other day in town and sprayed some on the bolts last night and some this morning. Later this afternoon I was lookin around on my truck today and noticed the passanger nerf bar was a bit wiggly. I looked underneath and moved around on it some more. I threw a socket on it and turned the bolt no problem. So I tried the front one...that one turned also. Then I tried the very front ones and they turned, with a bit of pulling...but nothing serious. All of the bolts in the cab ended up coming out tonite and 3" blocks were put in...I don't have pics yet cause I just got in and didn't feel like going back out for pictures, but I'll get some tomorrow when I lift the box. It took me about 5 - 5 1/2 hours for the cab. I couldn't get the nerfs back on when I was trying to put the bolts in so I just left them off after trying for 30 minutes. I have to say...It looks quite a bit better with that extra 3" even with the crappy tires on it. Can't wait til I get my new ones on. Gonna get them mounted on Monday for 9 bux a piece down the road from my house. Then hopefully I'll get them on that night and take a buncha pics. Now I'm excited! Can't wait to get it finished. Thanks for all the advice fellas. Later Bob Quote
