GEARMADE Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 i got my cylinders off and a friend is on his way over to port my cylinders he has a lot experince with race cars and shuch what we need is some pics of ported cylinders and tips on what to take and where thanks for any help. Quote
Nighty Posted June 19, 2004 Report Posted June 19, 2004 Maybe somebody has a cylinder portmap? or use the race logic templates. Quote
kenr74 Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 I'm suprised nobody has said this yet but I wouldn't recommend porting your own cylinders. There is a science to it that take a lot of practice to get just right. I'd rather have a slow bike that a dead bike after I fucked up my cylinders. There are some pics of porting on here if you do a search. Good luck. Quote
MULLET~BOY Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 2 strokes are alot harder to port then 4 strokes most the work is done in the transphers you need speical tools that will cost you around 700 bucks then you would have to find out what to to set the ports at and such i would just send it to some one that really knows what there doing with two strokes like www.patriotracing.net it will save you money and a headacke in the end Quote
nater006 Posted June 24, 2004 Report Posted June 24, 2004 Lots of folks have seemed to have decent luck with the Race Logic templates if you do a search, but I gotta agree with Mullet~Boy that if you want to make something really crazy, send it to a pro. Just looking for a little more zip out of the engine at an economical price, you should be able to get away with it if you take your time and use some templates. Quote
DirtRider Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 once you get ome reading this site you can decide wether or not you want to do it your self. http://www.fast-forward.us/Pulse2.htm they can tune your bike to put out over 100 hp. Quote
nater006 Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 (edited) Man, being a little more tired at work and re-reading the topic.. you might wanna consult with a plastic surgeon before improving your personal exhaust flow... Edited June 25, 2004 by nater006 Quote
Nighty Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Well if all that stuff is as good as they say it is (those pulse pipes)... They use the toomey t5's to compare the pulse pipes with. According to them a T5 is less efficient in a tuned engine then on a stock engine.(aka developed for stock engine) as far as i know a T5 is one of the best pipes for (mildly) tuned engines. a T6 system is said to be less effective on a tuned engine. All this might change with strokers and bigbore banshees. To bad the dont have the dyno data up yet. This might be interresting for all the stroker 12 porters out here. Quote
ledofthezep Posted June 25, 2004 Report Posted June 25, 2004 Man, being a little more tired at work and re-reading the topic.. you might wanna consult with a plastic surgeon before improving your personal exhaust flow... No joke...I was on the john last night & thought I'd done a little port work to myself... Quote
