Can someone please help me? Whenever I get connected to the internet my computer randomly gets this error message usually right after I click on something to bring up a new page. The error message says that a fatal error has occured and the screen turns blue. It says that I can continue normally by pressing any key, but the screen stays the same. I have to turn of the computer and restart it. I have ran scan disk atleast 20 times but it never seems to help. I have windows 98. It is driving me crazy being forced to restart my computer every 5 mins of surfing. It also occurs alot when I'm chatting on aim. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I had this (or similar) problem with my win 98 machine (500Mhz, 256MB ram, 13GB HDD) what basically ended up happening is a complete reformat, and resinstall of win 98SE, after that, no more BSOD. I would still try to uninstall some uneeded programs, and then reinstall IE, or replace with Mozilla browser

good luck, i hate Win98 :shootself:

Get a new computer with at least a 1 gig chip....256 ram....a 120 gig hard drive (cause I know you like pron).....and running win xp. I would tell you to get a linux machine, but I doubt you would know what that is.

Next get DSL.

That will solve all your problems.

Also, that will be 150 dollars......

If your PC specs are around 400MHz or better with at LEAST 128MB RAM, upgrade to Win2k. That'll save you many headaches. Win98 blows. I suppose your error could be due to spyware or even a virus but I doubt it. 98 just doesn't like it when stuff gets added or changed.

I have concluded that it is my aim account. I haven't had a problem when I am not signed on AIM.

It wouldn't be anything wrong with your AIM account. Maybe with the program though. Just reinstall with the latest version. It would also be a good idea to download Spybot and scan your computer.
