banshee_kid350 Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 I bought some boyessen pro series reeds the other day and i opened the package to put them on and it only comes with 2 pedals do you have to buy another set to do the other reed or is it one pedal for each reed and you leave other other stock ones still on on the other side. also do you put those big cages back on the are on the outside of the reeds??? Ducman Posted May 18, 2004 Report Posted May 18, 2004 1) Yes, you need 2 new reed petals per cage, 2 cages, so 4 reed petals altogether. 2) With boysen reeds if the reed comes with a small little brass plates (rev plate), one for each petal, each plate has 2 holes in it, and they are approximately 1/4" wide and the lenth of plate = smaller width of the reed, then you remove the curved piece (reed stop) off the stock cage and use the rev plate. If no rev plate is included then use the stock reed stop that comes on the stock reed cage. You are supposed to use blue locktite on the screws that hole the reed and rev plave/reed stops when reassembling. Quote
