hotrodbanshee Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 I am installing a tusk clutch kit and the tusk fiber plates have a slightly smaller inside diameter than the stockers. They don't want to slide over the rubber cushion rings. If I take a flat head screwdriver I can work the rubber ring between the fiber plate and clutch boss but it is really tight. Do I need to use cushion rings with this clutch? Please help............. Quote
zilladude Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Throw the rubber cushions away, you don't need them. Quote
boonman Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Throw the rubber cushions away, you don't need them. You beat me to it!!!!! Have yourself a clutch cushion ring party!!!! Or, lay them outside, and when you get the clutch back together, you can go roost on it.... Quote
Banchetta Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Anyone ever try a stock clutch w/o the rubber. and keep the stock springs.....???? Quote
boonman Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 AHHHHHHHHHH.... Stock springs don't hold long nough in my bike to find out...... But a stock clutch plate fiber is just fine.. Quote
zilladude Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Stock fibers, Barnett steels & springs. This was the set up in mine when I got it. Seems to work good. I have about 50-60 hrs on it & is still holding. I will have to replace it when I get my Passion motor done. Quote
hotrodbanshee Posted May 4, 2004 Author Report Posted May 4, 2004 Thanks guys. Now I can go back together with it and rip some ass. P.S. I think I'll get a 6 pak of budlight, drink them and then play ring the longneck with the rings. Quote
