frocashmoney24 Posted April 2, 2004 Report Posted April 2, 2004 allright, the bolt taht holds the swingarm on up by the shock, ive been tryin to loosen it and i got the bolt off, and when i loosen the bolt it just spins in place, and i tried hitting it pretty ahrd and the shits not movin, even with the combo of hitting and spinning at the same time, any idea why or how i can get it off Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 are you talking about the swingarm pivot bolt? if so try and impact on one side, and a wrench on the other. that should get it loosened up. if you try to beat it out, put the nut back on it. then you can try whacking it a few times. i had problems one time and i ended up layin it over on its side, then beating it with a 10 pound sledge hammer about 7 times.(with the nut on of course). then when it starts out use a big ass screw driver or socket extension to drive it on out. duner Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Just went through this last winter. I ended up using a die grinder with a thin cutting wheel to cut through the pivit bolt between the swingarm & the inside of the frame.Had to buy a new bolt & bearing kit though.Bet you ass I greased the pivit bolt on reassembly! A total pain in the ass. Quote
badass_r6 Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 donr it a few times, just Whacky Whacky. really hard, it'll come. Quote
boonman Posted April 3, 2004 Report Posted April 3, 2004 Get ya ass to Home Depot, and buy a bigger hammer. You need a really BFH to get this job done. Liek a 20 lb. sledge will do. Just have good aim. Don't hit the frame. Last but not least, you could use the hot wrench.... Quote
frocashmoney24 Posted April 4, 2004 Author Report Posted April 4, 2004 no shit? i was hitten it with a 5 pound hammer with the nut on of coarse and i though i was doin it some abuse, so i just gotta beat the f*ck outta it with a sledge huh? i thought the pin bearing mighta broke or something and got jammed in there Quote
