Okay...I feel like a dumb ass for even having to ask this........but..........I am trying to replace front pads on a 2000 shee. I have done it on cars b4 with no probs, but this is getting the best of me. What am I missing. I can not get the caliper off to change them out. I can not tip the caliper up or down because of the cover on the inside of the rotor. I can not take the cover off because it is bolted on from the rotor side. Helppppppp?

If your talking about the gaurd with the holes in it I cut mine off and trashed it. It's purpose is supposed to keep a stick from wedging in there but I really don't see a need for it plus it looks like crap.

Me too, it was a goner the first time I saw it. There are some bolts to get to, but they're a bitch. You can actually bend the cover around the rotor a little and slide it out. Once it's out, don't put it back in till the covers are :flame: toast.

i just finished replacing ft brakes yesterday morning and was pissed off dealing with this exact problem. i ended up just bending the guard out of the way enough to get the caliper out, then bent it back after re-installing the caliper. just make sure it's not in contact with the rotor when you bend it back. it does look like it would be a bitch to remove it, and for riding in woods a lot like i do, i would rather have it on there.

Thanks for the tips guys...I did manage to muscle the covers out of the way enough to get the caliper out. Still seems like there has to be a right way to do this..but Its done...Thx again
