chipdog Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 how do you know if your clutch is going out. is it that you just loose power all around. or you just have slipping. Quote
evil Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 both and the motor will rev alot higher and not pull the quad whitch is the same as slipping, also the way it engages will be affected when its on its way out. Quote
Tim C Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 It will start slipping in the higher gears - the engine will rev out but won't pull like it should. If you catch it in time before you burn the fiber plates and worp the steel plates you could just put heavier springs in it and it will be fine. Barnett sells spring kits for about $15. Any bike dealer should be able to get them for you. Quote
fixitrod Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Another trick that banshee370 did ( Walter) was take the steels and grind them on concrete. Banchetta was having some clutch trouble at Dumont and he put some heavier springs in. Walter took the steels to the trailer and ground them on the floor in a figure 8 pattern. Worked very nice.
