boonman Posted February 23, 2004 Report Posted February 23, 2004 I heat my garage which is 20'x24' with a 45,000 BTU kerosene torpedo. In 1/2 hour, it's 70 degrees. No insulation in there. And no matter what the outside temp is, it is t-shirt time. I have a low ceiling however, and the fumes get stinky. But, I have been out there when it is -10 outside, and been in the t-shirt. Without a problem.... It runs for 11 hours on 5 gallons of kerosene. I am looking right now for a natural gas space heater, because I have natural gas plumbed in there. When I build my new shop, I will be heating with propane. Quote
