Head Gasket

I just took off my stock head does it have a gasket? I dont think I saw one. Also after haveing a head milled do I need to get one?

if you didn't have a head gasket you would of had some serious probems, its probley just stuck to the head or the cylinders, and yes always use a new gasket when you take your head off or your just askin for problems.

if you get on at the dealership there $20 bucks or you can order a cometic full top end gasket kit for around $21 bucks, I've always run cometic and never had any problems with them.

I have been told by my builder to use stock head gastkets. I never had trouble with cometic but I did with the vitos gasket.

You will need a Yamaha part # 2GU-11181-00 and it is around $20. From the dealer. I have used Cometics in the past. And I blew one. ALthough, my torque wrench contributed to this as well. I am on a stock head gasket, with no problems. I also bought a new torque wrench when I threw my old one through the wall.
