Hockey390 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 I needed a bumper because my last one got wrecked to crap when i hit a tree and i figured if i did that again with no bumper i would be replacing something a little more expensive... So i got one of those mudscreen bumpers that was in pretty bad condition. It is straight but the paint is crap and i figured I would get it painted chrome. I was wondering if anyone knows of a place that does it really cheap. I know you cant powder coat chrome, but you actually have to dip the part in chrome (is this right?) So if anyone knows of a place that will do it for a good price. List it here...Once I find the best price I will get the info from you. Thanks! Quote
ruff_rida69 Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 if I was you i would just go buy some chrome spray paint, and just sand the bumper down really good, and just put about 5 or 6 thin coats on it, just don't put any clear coats on it because the chrome color will be dull, i painted my bumber black and it hasn't come off yet. hash1250r Posted January 5, 2004 Report Posted January 5, 2004 It will cost about $20 to get it powdercoated chrome and it will last alot longer than any paint job. And no you dont dip it for p/c chrome you spray it and bake it like regular powder. Quote

evil Posted January 7, 2004 Report Posted January 7, 2004 he just did, hit him up on a pm, hash can do the powder coat chrome for you. or you can go chrome in a can, no matter how many coats you go it will look like crap afer a few days in the sun and starts cracking. powder coat chrome has more of a chrome look to it then the caned stuff and it will last a hell of alot longer too. add a coat of clear and it looks like polished aluminum. i did my ac bumper black and its held up for awhile now, powders the way to go. later Quote
