Yeah that’s what I’m thinking also..any chance that would be a loose head bolt or something? I did check the 118 side at first and it wouldn’t keep psi for a little while 😕 then it held and gave me 118

You could try it but it's doubtful. How old is the motor and do you know if it's ever had work done?

I was told it was rebuilt a while back and it’s just been sitting..he got me ..

Well man, you live and you learn. I just got done rebuilding 2 Banshees and both run and have great compression. If yours were rebuilt it would have good compression unless they did a terrible job.

If you ask me when you're buying a quad or anything with an engine it either runs or it doesn't.

If they can't get it started while you're there, it doesn't run and you should pay appropriately.

Oh I assumed it didn't run for whatever reason.

If you do the work yourself you can rebuild it for about $300. And that's for pro lites. Assuming everything else is good.

umm what?

Are you doing a compression test correctly?

First, get the correct tool. A compression gauge with the schrader valve in the tip. Make sure the tip is the same size as your spark plug and threads in the same depth.

Second, make sure tip is fully in the head and doesn't leak.

Kick engine over with throttle held open. Kick till needle stops moving.

I have a lisle 20250 compression tester..throttle wide open and kicked it tell the compression stopped climbing..other spark plug was in on the other side.
