tonyd278 Posted January 1, 2017 Report Posted January 1, 2017 Trying to remove the clutch basket so that I can get into the engine to remove a welded push rod but have hit a problem. I cannot remove the small nut attached to the screw and cannot simply pull them out because I think that might be welded. What can I do to remove this? Quote

Release the clutch cable, work the lever to see if the rod indeed will move. Use a magnetic Ben to try and retrieve it from the bore. If it won't come, you will have to split the cases. Quote
RagunCajun Posted January 2, 2017 Report Posted January 2, 2017 You can also tip the bike over to aid in what trick said. If that doesn't work, split the cases. While in there replace all seals, gaskets etc. Quote
tonyd278 Posted January 2, 2017 Author Report Posted January 2, 2017 Thanks for the tips...I have already removed the engine from the bike...it appears that the ball welded to the screw inside the push rod behind the pressure plate and to the actuator... Quote

salmon_slayer06 Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 What causes this to happen? Just wondering. Quote
trickedcarbine Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 Holding the clutch in while the bike is in gear and in motion. Especially on deceleration or down hill. Quote
sleeper06 Posted January 13, 2017 Report Posted January 13, 2017 Friction welding is some sick shit Quote
