Leak down test

Recommended Posts

Wondering if it's ok to do a leak down test right after I put cases together with fresh rtv

And torqued to spec ...

The reason I'm asking cuz last night I resealed my cases and did the leak down 24hrs after the rtv was applied so it could cure , and today I did a leak down test and it failed .. On crank left side seal was installed backwards so have to redo the whole thing ..

And is there any tricks to have 100% seal around the rubber seals ?

Thanks

It will and can push it out without question give it cure time, if it's colder then 70* it's takes longer to cure . Common sense would tell you not to pressurize wet sealant. Is there s trick , yes clean cases in sink with hot soapy water(dish soap) let it dry then ascetone the shit out of the mating surfaces with a brand new white rag, when the rag stop turning black n dirty it's clean enouph to glue
