This just happened to my stock dipstick.  Took it out fine to let the case vent while draining the oil.  Then it wouldn't start straight to thread back in.  Tried to clean up the starting threads with a dremel and still no go.  Cut half of the threads off with a dremel and it went in with no problems. 

 

On a side note, I've had 2 Poulan chain saws with plastic gas caps that thread into a plastic tank housing go bad after several years.  It's like the threads swell up and make opening or closing it impossible without using a wrench.

Aren't you suppose to be looking for a job? So you can save up an buy a banshee.

Clymers manual get one if you wanna rebuild a motor it comes in handy.
