At what point on a bone stock motor does it get to where it won't kick start but will pull start. I've got 120 lbs on one side and 100 on the other. I had to pull start it couldn't get it to kick start

Yeah I figured I'm building a leak down tester to check all the seals before I jerk the top end off

Good idea, I would do some inspecting to figure out why one side is good and the other is 20 lbs less compression. In my instance i bought one like that and it ended up being a torn intake boot from a boost bottle. Caused lean condition onThat cylinder And no telling how long the previous owner ran it like that.

I'm thinking bout pulling the exhaust on that side and taking a peak with a flash light to see if I can see any cylinder scarring and etc. will check the intake boots but one question. If you hold the throttle wide open how would the intake boot cause an issue

Hmm, I think your getting the leakdown and comp test a little mixed up. Or are you talking just in general?

In general. The leaking intake boots shouldn't have anything to do with compression right? That would show evidence of a failed leak down test right

Leaking boots wouldn't effect the results of a compression test. but it could have caused a lean condition which would damage the piston/rings/bore which would give the low compression you speak of.

I had that happen on a dirt bike once smoked it too. I will know soon enough I am almost done with the leak down tester. For some reason no one around here carries metal tubeless valve stems. Have to order some I guess

you have to take the pipes off anyway to do a leak down, id also get a light and look inside the cylinder, look for some tell tales.

bike should still run a 120/100.

check other shit.

clean  jets/carbs n stuff.
