Jgspahn Posted August 28, 2013 Report Posted August 28, 2013 Ive read about it on here. The "how-to" write up doesnt sound toooo difficult, but I dont have my dremel with me since I moved, and I dont feel like driving hours and hours to get it. So who wants to do this for me? How much are ya gonna charge? Quote
VoOK Posted August 28, 2013 Report Posted August 28, 2013 try using a thicker o-ring first..... Quote
Pastrykiller Posted August 28, 2013 Report Posted August 28, 2013 Shipping both ways will cost you more than buying a rebuild kit off the Internet. I think they average 9.00 new and that's shipped. Quote

Pastrykiller Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Ok and my point still stands that shipping is more than a rebuild kit. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Just use a smaller ball bearing then. Stock size. Quote
Jgspahn Posted August 29, 2013 Author Report Posted August 29, 2013 I was under the impression that once you do that mod you never have to rebuild it again.. is that the wrong train of though? Quote
dave5.0 Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 Oring like they said above. Take the spring out and stretch it a bit. Lil grease. Slap it together and run it. Quote
DeadbeatOperator Posted August 29, 2013 Report Posted August 29, 2013 I did the mod with a drill and a cobalt bit. I used the stock spring, bigger ball, bolt, and the cone shaped spring on top. Filled it full of grease and so far haven't had any problems. If you don't have a drill just get the cobalt bit and put it in a pair of vice grips and twist away! Quote
camatv Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 steel on steel. yea it will need" rebuilt" again at some point.. heck rember your OEM kicker is at this point no matter what at least 6+ years old Quote
tdod101 Posted August 31, 2013 Report Posted August 31, 2013 Just get a zip tie and tighten it just enough so you can slip it on and off of your vent tubes, been doing this for months, works just fine Quote

Jgspahn Posted August 31, 2013 Author Report Posted August 31, 2013 I'm gonna take it apart regardless. Just check and see what's in there. Just thought I'd get some info on that mod while I was at it. Quote
