amsoil interceptor 2stroke oil. Any good? And how much should I mix??

Its what i run. Good oil never had any problems. I run at 40:1 but you can run 50:1 like the mixing instructions on bottle with no problems. Running at 50:1 like bottle says also reduces heat of pipes.

Burns kinda dirty. If works well enough like most other synthetics, but after some dyno testing and seeing how dirty it burns I switched to Torco.

 

I'd pick a different brand to run. Klotz, Redline, Torco, Maxim etc.......

 

Mix per the instruction of the oil you pick. I'm at 40:1

I was using yamalube mixing it at a 24:1 blew smoke for days thougght id switch it up. Thanks for the input!

That's way it smoke it's to rich try 32:1

i ran a bottle at 40:1 just to try it. did not like that i could not tell if my gas was mixed, and it was also expensive, so I just switched back to 2r at 32:1

I always heard you could run amsoil 100:1. Klutz supertechniplate FTW. 32:1 on gas. Won't smoke much when warm.

I rum the dominator. Totally different than the interceptor.. I run it at 50:1. It is a fantastic oil

Klotz R50 has a flash point of 550 deg F wich means it isn't burning off.

 

What is your oil's flash point?

I ran dominator on my banshee mixed at 40:1 when i was in colorado riding in the mountains. I never had a problem with amsoil dominator i would recommend it over the interceptor, its good oil.

From the info they give on site.. Interceptor is for a power valve 2 stroke and dominator is non power valve.. I run dominator and like it.

 

I also run at 50:1

I run the dominator oil @50to1  with no failiers.  12yrs on one motor, with a rering in there at some point.

I run amsoil dominator in all my two strokes except the alky burners. it wont mix with alky. for those i use klotz super techniplate. Very happy with both oils.

So after reading this thread I'm thinking of switching to Dominator. I've been running Interceptor for years and have been very happy with it. First top end rebuild was done just recently after 7 years and the cross hatching was still visible. On measure up of the cylinders no boring was needed only a light hone and some new standard size pistons. Would I still see this kind of longevity on Dominator? How would it go on the trails and cruising? Which is what I ride mostly. Or do you need to be into the throttle fairly hard a lot? After all, it is a race oil. I just want to make sure it would suit me needs. I also hear it smells nice.
