the DMCs are a great low-mid pipe that dont fall off on the top end.

 

if you do mixed riding i would look at them,  paul turner mids, t-5's.

I like the look/sound of the 916. Also DMC quality (from what I have seen on my friend's raptor 700) is top notch. I will enclose a list of what I am doing for rebuilding it. THE PISTONS/CYLINDERS are not in there because I do not have it torn down fully yet. I am hoping I just need to hone and replace pistons/rings. 

 

I am 99.99% sure how it got "blow up" per say, after it was stolen I am positive the person put fuel in it and DID NOT MIX with oil, thus causing terrible conditions. I will probably have to replace cylinders also but hoping for the best. 

 

How do the DMC 916's compare to the FMF Fatty's that are on there? Is it worth buying a new set of fatties w/o silencers? I also want it to look good and my fatties are destroyed (rusted/pitted) and one expansion chamber is torn like something fell on it (like a piece of angle iron or something with a sharp corner from up high because there is a nice slice in it).

Plastics are trashed, bent, broken, cut. I am going to ground up restore this bike.

Sounds like a good start to me. I have dmc 916s and love them! They sound like a 2-stroke indy car. The 916s have better low/mid than my old pc platinums and the top end is a whole lot better than the pcs also. The pipes and silencer fit nice, and I am a big fan of the look.

Be careful getting banshee parts on ebay like the shocks you mentioned. no minkuia38 or whatever his name is. Maybe hit up NYUK or bansheeboie for some parts. NYUK has always been really fair to me. good luck

I also am going to replace both front and rear sprockets as well as the chain. I want to go with a double o-ring for quality/longevity. Any recommendations on what tooth sprockets I should run?

if your going to be getting the swing-arm bearings to replace.....you may want to also order the swing-arm bolt.  Sneaking suspicion that yours is going to be frozen in place......which require you either have to put the purse down and hit it with a BIG hammer.......or cut it when the hammer doesn't work.....

those ebay shocks aren't worth the shiping cost, don't get them. get a used set of stockers from someone on here.   14/  41 on gearing.

Thanks for the tip, only reason I wanted to replace them is because I am putting a new swingarm on. I do not know if my bearings are bad.

The 916 isnt a 2-1 pipe.

 

Thanks, I kinda thought it was because of the centralized silencer. As long as they give decent low/great mid and do not fall off up top I don't mind haha.
