wiring problem

Alright can't get spark after cutting harness. I've looked at multiple diagrams and can't see that I have anything wrong. Only thing on the bike is a tether kill switch. I have a good ground.

Heres my connections

 

Red/black connected to the black wire off the plug and I have those tied to ground

Orange to one side of coil with the other side going to ground

white/black goes to one side of tether switch and other side goes to ground its normally open

black off the magnet also goes to ground

 

I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out

Pull the tether cord off, try it then.

nop tried that already after looking at the diagram the only grounds on my bike should be the spark plugs if Im correct. So all my connections that I have grounded should just be reference to a common?

The stator is grounded so if the engine has a good connection to the frame all black wires are grounded and the r/b wire too if you have deleted the key switch. Check to see if the b/w and black wire is shorted with the tether in. Check it at the cdi connection.

^^^what he said^^^   If your tether is normally open, when you put your clip in it the circuit will be closed, shorting the B/W and Black wire, killing the spark.

Which tether did you get? If you don't know how to test it, disconnect it altogether and see if you have spark.

Well, I could be wrong, I just checked and they advertise the one I'm running as normally open too. It works hooked up like yours.

I stole this hand drawing from someone here, it works. I would still hook up the black wire from the stator to your grounds.

this is what i used to do mine minus lights and voltage reg and i put a ground to the frame off the black x2 on what brand tether i had a pro armor one that didnt work right out of the box wasnt put together right and was closed even with the tether in

I think my bro fried my cdi, he welded on his frame with my cdi bolted on.

Do you know anybody else close to you that has another banshee that you can test your cdi on?

Yah I have another one on the shelf but Its got different connectors so I gotta splice em

Hah new cdi fixed it we got spark. Note to wise don't weld on the frame with a cdi mounted.

Good to hear ya got it fixed ! I just must be lucky, I've welded on a bunch of them with no problem.

Cdi isn't naturally grounded through the bolts.. so welding on the frame wouldn't effect it bolted/unbolted..
