Jgspahn Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 Another HQ member posted this up and it sounds like a good deal to me. I contacted him yesterday, and he said hed hold it till Friday for me. My questions are as follows.... I have Vforce2 reeds.. is there much difference in the V3's? Could the reeds be bad? Do they go bad? I was just about to send my head off to get milled.. Is there anything else Id have to buy for the cool head? Is that a good cool head? Ive heard folks talk about o-rings and stuff.. a little bit of 1 piece vs 2 piece i think... im kinda in the dark about all this, but im doing a ground up build and I dont want to miss out on a good deal... if its a good deal.. thanks for allllll the help guys!! trickedcarbine Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 If you have 2's now, don't bother with the 3's. You're 2's perform better. If you want to freshen them up just get a set of new petals. As far as the head, you can either machine your stock head or do a cool head with new domes. If you machine your stocker, don't jus let some third rate shop mill it and call it good. The real performance is in re chambering the combustion area. Mull engineering can hook you up with a bad ass stock head. If you wanna go with an aftermarket cool head I suggest the Noss head or maybe the chariot. But you will need to order custom domes as well. Quote

trickedcarbine Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 No offense, I'd steer clear of that stuff. The boost bottle is only problems waiting to happen, your 2's are better then the 3's and that head has seen better days and there is no info on what domes are with it. Plus you need the studs for it, and misc hardware and o rings. Quote
Jgspahn Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Posted March 21, 2013 Yes definitely not into the boost bottle. I've been getting into polishing, so I thought I could polish up that head.. But I just spent a shit ton of money with porting, true and weld crank, and having Matt rebuild my shocks... Having to buy studs ands rings gonna push it over 200, when I can just get fast to mill it for cheap.. Anyone that wants to jump on this feel free, I'm bowing out. Quote
Jgspahn Posted March 21, 2013 Author Report Posted March 21, 2013 Can't go look, he would have to ship them to me. Quote
oldskool Posted March 21, 2013 Report Posted March 21, 2013 You also gonna need domes with that cool head Quote
Glenyboy Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 ? The whole part about the head. It's stock, then it's a coolhead, then asks if it's a good coolhead when a brand hasn't been mentioned. Quote

Glenyboy Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 It's all cleared up now he's posted the link. I'd buy that stuff, scrap the boost bottle, sell the head and just be done with a cheap set of vf3's. Quote
