turbowrenchhead Posted January 2, 2013 Report Posted January 2, 2013 I'm replacing the cushions in my basket and replacing the basket. I can't find a machinist that will countersink 4 holes for the 5/16 bolts. I have a few carbide bits but none of them will touch it. Does anyone have a plate they would like to get rid of? Quote

All Ive ever used was a drill bit. IDK why it would be giving you problems,,,but let me see if i have an extra laying around, if so, you can just have it. Quote

Abe Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 Last stock basket I had Someone had rebuilt with new cushions and reused the stock plate and left the stock rivets in place and had button welds holding the plate on, I don't know how safe this was but seemed to hold up quite well Quote
camatv Posted January 3, 2013 Report Posted January 3, 2013 just buy a billet basket already!!!! that plate/ cusion setup from matton was a suggestion of mine to update the lesser quality billet baskets out there. i have installed that setup on hinsons barrnets and the incrediby weak wiseco setups. the stock plate is VERY VERY hard and ridgid for a reason. some of the aftermarkets i have seen use ALLUMINUM what the hell Quote
