lms1977 Posted December 21, 2012 Report Posted December 21, 2012 Just file off the top of the piston the width of the exhaust on the exhaust port side. You'll have to calculate how much for 2 degrees. like the vitos power pistons? will it really act similar to raising the port that 2 deg? also wont that mess with the combustion chamber to some extent since the top of the piston wont all be the same Quote
sleeper06 Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 do it !!! i never had any issues with it flaking when porting, and your a smart guy you shouild have no issues Quote

I've seen it done for dyno tuning to see if more exhaust duration is better on a particular motor. In your case, you could do that, and if you like the power delivery you can then port it, or run it until it needs replating and then port it. Quote
Young Guns Racing Posted January 4, 2013 Report Posted January 4, 2013 By trade I work in the lawn and garden industry. I've ported lots of chainsaws for folks and your namebrands like stihl and such use a nikisil plating on their higher end saws. It is tough to cut but I have found with the right RPM a nice carbide double cutter will work but it IS risky. A simple stone (220 grit or so, a roll would do the same but wear faster) will do the job without such a chipping risk. It is going to take lots of time. Just be careful and remember to properly chamfer your ports when you are done! Quote
