Had my 10mill cub out for the first time this weekend. I have brand new 34 TM's with powerjets. First ride out it would not come on the pipe at all. Smoking like a pig. So I put the needles at the leanest position and turned the powerjets completely in. I have 280 mains and 50 pilots btw. And took the air screws out 2 1/2 turns. It got better but would come on the pipe alittle bit but under load going up a hill it just fell on its face. Unfortunetly I had no spare jets and all my buddies run PWK. Before I switch to Keihin, I want to try and make these work. What do I need to do? Different needle and emulsion tube? Smaller main Jets? Some other info is about 900ft above sealevel where we ride, +5 timing, 24cc domes est 160psi comp, Pods, v force reeds. Any help from the mikuni experts would be appreicated.

assuming you are running gas and not alcohol: make sure you have gas needles and not alky needles, also, Im not sure if it matters with gas, but I know on alky the collar on top of the dumptube has to be grinded down a little bit. If they are too tall it will run like Sh*t

These carbs were brand new. When I was able to get it to run and kinda get on the pipe, it felt nothing like how a cub should pull. Weak as hell. It would not pull at all going up a hill.

im no expert but when i bought my 28mm tm's new they came set up like poop . i had to change alot,luckly the guy snoop on here helped me out and gave me these dyno tuned specs.im guessing our carbs our identical but yours in larger = slide 2 1/2 jet needle 5L1 , pilot 30 ,main 340 float height 22 mm ,nozzle jet 175 (p-4} ,needle seat valve 2.5, this is what i ended up with my set up im thinking your main should be bigger then the 340. hope this helps...... goodluck

Thanks for the advice. I've been talkin to some other people as well, and I may have something else going on with the electrical. Gonna start tearin into it today.
