11AGUY Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 just cleaned out the carbs on my 2003 Banshee that was given to me by a relative..... i have a lot of experience with small engines but this is my 1st time with an atv.... put her all back together this morning, topped off the fuel, opened the fuel shut-off and started kicking away... after a few kicks and no start, I looked down and saw gas flowing out of both carbs from the vent tube.... WTF.... I removed the float and needed and had to lightly tap out the pin on both carbs... needle looked fine.....any suggestions also, float(s) appeared to be in tact and no holes.... made an awful mess in the driveway Quote
Dicklez Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Float hanging up or float levels?? Try tapping on the bowls. Plus make sure your choke crossover tube is connected. Good luck. Quote
sheerider11 Posted January 7, 2012 Report Posted January 7, 2012 Check that, and clean the seat and the rubber on the needle. Quote
11AGUY Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 How do you bend the tabs on he float bowl... I don't have a measuring gauge to see if there between 20-22 mm... I assume it's the tab that holds the needle or is it the whole piece that holds the plastic float pieces??? Quote
11AGUY Posted January 8, 2012 Author Report Posted January 8, 2012 I just realized I might have put the GD floats on up side down.... We'll see Quote
thomas h. Posted January 8, 2012 Report Posted January 8, 2012 The needle and seats are replaceable and or use toothpaste and qtips to polish the seat. Hold the carb upside down then if the float it level you should be close Quote
