tro Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 hey guys. just got done putting in a new pivot bolt (worst thing in my entire life) and i decided to get some toomey t5's to put on it while it was sitting idle. finally got everything together today and i could not get it to start. had to roll start it down a hill and even then it really didnt want to run. when it does run tho the throttle seems like it sticks and it runs hot. did all of the jetting correctly and made sure the slides are on the right side and facing the right direction. and right now im kinda stumped. help please. Larry's Shee Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Most pipes prefer 27.5 pilots. Might check for air leaks around reeds . Check through thread at top of page "What jets are you running" look for a set-up simular to yours. As to running hot you talking at idle or riding around? Quote
tro Posted August 11, 2011 Author Report Posted August 11, 2011 it wont idle at all. when i let it cool down and zip down the road the pipes get hotter alot faster then they used too. checked the plugs and its not running lean. if anything it looks like it might be too rich. and the toomey instructions said i can use stock pilot. im gonna go check for air leaks around the reeds. also i didnt put the stock brass reed stops in. was i supposed to? the boysen ones came with a thin brass strip that i thought replaced the olds one.
