sand-paddles Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 took the top end off my bike and i noticed that one of the rods had quite a bit of end play. i measured with feeler guages and came to .029 in. the service manual says that it can go up to .029. Am i safe to run the bike as it is or should i take the bottom end apart and fix the crank? Quote
shakar Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 ....might as well get it trued and welded before it lets go and does more damage, i think its fast racing that does it for 75$ goodlck Quote
midlifecrisis Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 Im guessing by your handle that winter doesnt exist, so its a matter of whether you can handle not having it together? If it were me, and winter was happening outside, I would get it fixed for peace of mind. Quote
BUILDER Posted February 28, 2011 Report Posted February 28, 2011 If your crank is that loose I guess you should ask yourself if it is worth loosing a bearing and destroying the bottom of your motor. I would say that it is time to tear it down and make sure it is in good shape. Quote

Rebuild the crank now & save the headache of it giving out on you later & damaging other internal parts. Quote
