sixsicsix19 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Can anyone tell me how big a difference the serval 4mill compared to the serval stock stroke is? I dont have alot of money to blow and just trying to figure out if the extra 500 for the 4mill setup is worth it to me. Im not a complete newbie but lack some experience still in motor modification like this and was wondering how much of a different process from a stock motor rebuild would a serval 4mill kit be? Any kind of case modification etc... have to be done??? Thanks Quote
andrew3160 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Spend the money and go 4 mill. Trust me, I just did and it is night and day difference with some port work. You will need new domes and a head for the 4 mill. Not sure about porting with a serval. Quote
Larry's Shee Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 The $500 difference is for the new 4mil crank. Quote
SonOfSand Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Is your stock crank already welded? If not, you would need to split the cases and do that anyway. So if you are going through all the trouble and expense for that, ebay the old crank for 100 bucks or so. New, welded cranks are around 450 i think. So you are only out 350, and you have more power, and no regrets! Quote
dajogejr Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Probably 5 to 7% increase in power at best between a 4 mil and stock stroke if you're keeping the bore the same. Quote
06specialedition Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 4mil will of course be better, but just depends on your budget. Quote
