from what I have read you remove the plugs and install a gauge that has a insert that screws in a far as the plug. Hold the throttle wide open and kick until the gauge stops going up. Repeat for the other side. I have read different things as far as doing it on a cold motor or warm. Most seem to recommend with the motor cold.

yeah and to check spark put your finger in the spark plug boot and kick very hard. :jesterlaugh:

Glad to know i'm not the only one who checks spark this way.... probably the reason why my hair stands straight up and i gotta twitch :whoa:

The schrader valve should be flush with the end as well.

The cheap kits have the schrader in the hose. For a true reading, each adapter should have a schader n it.

i have an old snap on gague my grandpappy used was my inheritance..

 

i just drop it in and kick till it stops most 2 strokes with stock head wont start with the kicker below 110ish PSI cold. if its got a cool head it can vary a lot i ususally just compare the 2 cylinders to eachother.
