4MiLLDraGSheE Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 i started my 4 mill build and i put my first crank in. after all is done and i got the clutch and everything about done i figured out that there is clips on the bearings that are supposed to fit somewere in the case, since i dont know about it i really doubt that they are all in the propper spot, basically how important is this to have or what will happen if i dont take it all apart all over again and fix it? tedd1 Posted November 22, 2010 Report Posted November 22, 2010 You will want those clips in there.... Quote
SkinInd_Banshee Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 There are two big and one small c clips under the crank and gears so you need to remember where they go. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 If the clips are not in there all kinds of carnage will happen. The crank and tranny shafts will NOT be held in the proper location and will rub on other parts and the cases and cause damage. Also, it may take out the cranks seals, causing an air leak and then a meltdown. Good luck. Quote

4MiLLDraGSheE Posted November 23, 2010 Author Report Posted November 23, 2010 i did what i didnt want to do and took it all apart... there arent even any of those pin things on my crank? its a hot rods crank, i dont see any of those pins... all the clips are in the right spot though... Quote
hercalmighty Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 Hotrod uses orings to hold the bearings instead of the little pins. If you have the clips in you should be good to go Quote
AKheathen Posted November 23, 2010 Report Posted November 23, 2010 yah, there is no pins on a hr crank, but your tranny will not fair well without them......check the clymers manual to see where they go... Quote
