stroking Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I got i 6 speed override that won't shift unless you go slow so i took it apart and two of the dog ears are welded then grind on a slant. should there be any welding on the ears of a 6 speed override ?? Quote
J-Madd Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Maybe the welding is the strengthen the dogs . The dogs on the 6th gear are probably rather small; and even much smaller once they're machined to a 45* (or whatever) angle. Is there weld on all fo them or just 6th? Will it shift into any of the gears? What do the forks look like? Quote
lowriderb Posted April 22, 2010 Report Posted April 22, 2010 check and see if either shafts are bent, and check the forks and see if you have any wear. Quote
stroking Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 everything looks brand new other than the welding. Quote
