White97Banshee Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 Pros are you don't have to mess with an on/off switch for the bike itself or the headlights. Cons are you don't have a headlight unless you wire it to be on 100% of the time, how to would be in the electrical FAQ stickied in the mods & repairs section. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 If I am not mistaken, the way those switches work, you could just unplug it and take it off. But the you would have to kill the bike by putting it in gear and dumping the clutch and you won't have any lights. Or, you can add a kill switch that grounds the wire from the CDI that used to go to the run switch and add some kind of switch that will control the lights. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 17, 2010 Report Posted March 17, 2010 I removed my big stock thing along time ago. Switched to a CR 250 kill switch on the bars, and moved my lights to a two stage toggle switch that I put on the plastics by the tank. Once you open the stocker up, you will see it is just some brass jumpers and once they close they allow the power to turn on your lights. It is very simple. Auxillery power to one side of th toggle, and your high beam wire and blue wire for tail light if applicable to the other. Flip the switch and you got power. Quote
