i installed this intake kit for someone today and he said the guy he bought it from said it would give a 8-10 hp gain.

Maybe over stock and some other little things. How much was it? If it was over 60. Then its a rip. U could have just gottn pods. But that also won't help out in water or mud

A big improvement over stock for sure, but not 10 hp. Be sure he re-jets his carbs.

i swithed from a standard airbox with no lid and a pro flow to one of those aluminums,and noticed zero difference,until i rode in the water and noticed the large pool of water in the box from there being no drain.

Its a proven fact zip ties are better then hose clamps. Maybe you should do the same?
