SD1026 Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) Wondering about the yfz calipers does any one have them on their banshee? Do they mount right up or are they worth the trouble???? Edited March 3, 2010 by SD1026 Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 I'm running yfz calipers and think they are a good investment. The only modification you will have to do is cut the two bolts that mount the calipers to the spindles down about 1/8". Other than that it bolts right up. I'm also running a yfz master with braided lines, so maybe all that together is why it works good? Quote
NickisGod Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Love them. Mine needed no modification, just bolt bleed and go Quote
trail rider Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 (edited) Im running yfz450 front calipers and master cylinder too...........I got 1 finger braking .Its night and days difference in the feel at the lever and stopping distance compared to the banshee brakes. and yea the calipers bolt straight up to the stock spindles. GrMeyer Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 Just adding the braided lines did wonders. Just adding that helped out all my bikes. U don't get the flex in the rubber hose like u do in the braided when u pull the lever in. Quote
wacko2000 Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 I have heard all good things about the YFZ brakes on the shee I have a yfz so i know first hand that the brakes are just nasty, how well they stop But, I added SS brake lines to my shee and it was 1000% difference, night and day just from switching brake lines, couldn't believe it. Sal, Id say if ya can SCORE on a set of calipers go for it, but dont you already have SS brake lines?? Quote

Sandfrk33 Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 I picked up a set on ebay for $35. Feel much better than stock. If you can find some, you'll like it Quote
BSHEE400 Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 well worth the money, i bought a brand new set with pads for a small amount more than i would have paid to replace the pads in the stockers Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted March 4, 2010 Report Posted March 4, 2010 i was also wondering if most of the difference you guys were noticing was from the braided line, but for how well these calipers work and the price i dont think you could beat them if your in the market. Quote
