Is there any mods to make to the stock headlights? i was thinking about cutting the grilles off and getting piaa bulbs. the only thing is the piaas are tinted blue. do they shine blue or white? and would cutting the grilles off hurt anything? thanks

Cutting the grills on the lights wont be a issue at all. With a dremel it's very easy to cut. I recommend fine sanding them when your done so there is no evidence of the grill guard. looks clean. Now as for the Light bulb themselves, If you have a stock stator you can only put 30W bulbs on each side. I would recommend upgrading your stator to a 200W then you can place any bulb you like, such as a 50w bulb. Hope this helps bro

the piaa's are 35w each. do you think that will be a problem with a stock stator? ive just heard too many bad things about aftermarket stators...

The PIAA bulbs are considered a stock replacement bulb and will work with the stock stator. Theyproduce a much brighter light. As for as removing the grilles it depends on the year of bike, some yeasr you can pry the ring and grille off and some years you have to cut. it does make a difference on the amount of light they put out.

Damn at 30 bucks a bulb I'd just go get the walmart (trailtech knock-offs) lights. They're 20 bucks and come with 2x 50w halogen floods. I changed out one of them for a 20w spot bulb for distance.

I just put a set on my 'Shee yesterday and tried em today.. They project a lot brighter than stock, and as I said, I put a 20w spotlight on one of them so they also go further than stock. Spent about 25 bucks total.

x2, i did the exact same thing this spring. they work awesome over stock and can see distance. remember, we are talking about the little 2" chrome bullet lights, not the other 5 types of light walmart carries. they are the only one that takes the mr-16 bulb. true, they do get a bit hot, but it is far from an issue. i have run mine for hours on end and sprayed them with snow and water when they were hot as they can get, and still no issues or cracking. also, an underpowered light will just create heat and verry little light, so you want to keep the power at 70 watts, or you will loose alot of brightness in the lower rpm's. stock stator is about 100 watts at verry high rpms.
