Tf705 Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 im starting to question if my cdi is good. my buddy told me that the cdi's changed over the years on banshees. if this is true what year did they change and what years are compadible? Quote
Snopczynski Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 The connectors are different, some had functions like park brake limiters. Quote
shanYE west Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 the only thing that has changed on them is the plug ends.. I'm not exactly sure on the years.but I think its 89-94 then 95-96 and they changed it again for 97-06' again.. not 100% on the years of the change.. Quote
XxMeltIcexX Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 All will work if plug connectors are switched over, some have added wires (purple/black and green/yellow) they can be abandoned. Quote
bansheesandrider Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 There are 3 different CDI boxes, the main difference being the wire harness plugs. So, if you want to splice plugs, you could use any year. Some people say that the timing curve changed over the years, but I don't know for sure. Also, in 97 they added the park brake rev limiter wire, it is green and might have a yellow stripe. The years are as follows: 87-94, 95-96, 97-06. Quote
