It's easy but you need a good set of snap ring pliers for sure. Just pull the old packing and the center tube out after you pull the end caps off. Get some packing (I use insulation. Like the kind from home depot (the pink fiberglass)). Cut a piece off the same length as the tube and roll it up semi-tight so it will fit back into the silencer housing. Put a couple small pieces of masking tape around it to hold it together and then slide it back in the silencer and finish up. Done deal.

HOw do u know when to u need to repack them.

I got some and when i spin them around in my hand i can here loose stuff. when i kinda throw it but keep it in hand whole time black stuff comes out of it. Is this mean i need to repack mne before i put themon my bike. What does the packing really even do for u. thanks a whole lot.

Its sounds like you need to repack them. It it what actually quiets the exhaust. I dont care about noise, but I like the look of the silencers, so I cut some copper tubing that barely fits in the silencers to where the stinger tube when bolted to the silencer is pushing tightly on the copper tubing. This way I never have to repack and I have the silencer look, and if I ever go somewhere where there are noise restrictions I just take the 2 bolts holding the silencer to the stinger off and pull the tubes out.
