bansheeqc Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 Today, i installed a override on my new 4mill engine. It's an override 1-5,N down dunable from wcr. I follow the instruction on the box ( 1min on first with pulled clutch ...) I try it a couple of past on my home test track and a couple of the, the transmission shift by himself a gear. What is the problem??? I think it's possibly my clutch... For today, i use them with a standard clutch, no rdz spring or lock-up. What could cause this problem? thank you bansheeqc Quote

With an override, you really should pickup a lockup. Check with Kevin Herr, HJR Racing for an undercover lockup. You don't have to buy or mod your stock clutch cover, it fits underneath it. Quote
1sick6 Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 Hello, while were on the subject of overrides, would some 1 be able to upload a couple of pics of a stock trans and an override so I can see side by side what the differance is? My drag bike has an 1-5 override and I dont really want to split the cases just to see what it looks like. cheers, Paul Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 1sick6, I don't have picts side by side but the differance is the way the dogs on the gears are cut. Also the Shift rum gets moddified. If you have a duneable there is springs between the forks to assist when shifting. Quote
shanYE west Posted May 18, 2009 Report Posted May 18, 2009 The back cuts are also different. (depending on builder) If its not a N-Down trans you will see a spring on the driven shaft. Quote
bansheeqc Posted May 18, 2009 Author Report Posted May 18, 2009 It's seem to be okay today, i try it a couple of pass and don't have the problem anymore. I probably check for a lock-up in the next week. Quote
