lt1bird Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 ok, I did the star mod....works great ,shifts awsome.... I cant seem to find nutral when running...Hell its a bit tricky when the engine is off....I did not round the nutral part off...thats still sharp....It just wants to seem to jump right over nutral........I need to fix this....Who has the fix??? Thanks! Quote
lowbuckracing Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Did you try zip tying the clutch lever and doing it by hand? Quote
Woolfman Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Can't you put those on wrong so the neutral notch is in the wrong place? I can't remember but could be a possiblity Quote
lt1bird Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 It finds nutral and is installed correct..... LOL, yes I use my hand sometimes to find nutral....Kinda chezzy and tricky to do when running...... what else can I do to fix it? Quote
Handyman Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I have the same issue with mine but I have a hydraulic clutch on mine...Have you tried adjusting the clutch where it sits on the motor?? I have tried mine and it seems to help some but still not perfect. I also have to shut it off to find neutral sometimes but I usually just do it that way anyway... Quote
bansee fever Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 (edited) No matter what I did mine still had the same problem, now I run a dunable override cut with neutral down ! Edited May 7, 2009 by bansee fever Quote
TwistedSheeRida Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 try running a different oil idk might help i had trouble with that last year but not yet this year since ive used the amsoil in it Quote
rubberneck Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Every banshee i have is that way. When all the clutch components are brand new it seems to be the best, then over time, neutral just gets harder and harder to find. sometimes i get lucky and find it, sometimes i just kill it. I believe that you can cut the neutral slot in the star deeper and it is supposed to make it easier to find. Quote
lt1bird Posted May 7, 2009 Author Report Posted May 7, 2009 I was thinking of cutting it deeper......Ill have to look at the roller and make sure it stays down in the slot once deeper. I was wondering if anyone sold a updated star with a better wider nutral detent....Hmm....maybe I should start making them? Guess Ill wait till I need to pull the side cover off....just changed the oil and dont want to drain it again LOL..... Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Grab your self the shift pro kit with the roller bearing arm and lighter spring. Makes finding neutral 100X easier. Some people bitch about doing the shift pro kit and star but trust me it works when done right.. When your in there do the shift shaft mod also. Doing all that works great for me. Quote
rubberneck Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 Ive got the shift pro kit, the shift star, and shift shaft along with RZ forks and drum. It shifts nice, but not like a honda. Thats why my shit is getting replaced with an override. Quote
MikeNick Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 It's all in the toe man, proper placement and movement...I can click into neutral 3 outta 5 times..haha...Keep practicing... Quote
AWR Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 It's all in the toe man, proper placement and movement...I can click into neutral 3 outta 5 times..haha...Keep practicing... i can click into nuetral 3 out of five times while i'm racing.....lol Quote
AKheathen Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 i find that it's 100x easier to find neutral rolling. also, i had to keep tightening my shift lever. a little bit of play makes it impossible. turns out the bolt was bottoming out before it completely tightened. i can click into nuetral 3 out of five times while i'm racing.....lol hold the shif a slit second longer, and blip Quote
Loc Posted May 7, 2009 Report Posted May 7, 2009 I cant find neutral in any of my shees. I just kill the thing and go from there. Quote
