shanYE west Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 i hear everyone mention on this forum how important the tune is... i wanna know what everyone is meaning by " tune" and what they are doing.. thanks Tuning a bike is more then just jetting.. its finding the right compression, timing, carbs and pipes, ect.... and making it all work together. There is also "chassis tuning" wich is pretty much the same thing.. Getting all the parts to work their best together. Quote

shanYE west Posted April 17, 2009 Report Posted April 17, 2009 you still have to buy the right parts.. then you still have to tune them.. Timing, compression, dome designs. Its finding the right combo with all the parts to find that sweetspot. Some motors like high timing, low compression.. while others are oposite. My motor really liked high compression (195lbs) and high timing (13 degrees on the plate) now this setup isn't going to be optimal for most people.. but it was for me. Your builder can give you a idea of where to start then you gotta take it from there and just keep trying different stuff. I guess thats the best I can describe it. Quote
